Thanksgiving weather watch

The first “significant storm of the fall season” has arrived, according to the National Weather Service. OC is under a flash flood watch through Wednesday afternoon. The NWS says heavy rains are possible throughout the day. Coastal areas can expect 1/2 to 1-1/4 inches of rainfall. 20 percent chance of rain continuing through Thursday. And — good news for tree-lighting fans — Friday promises to be mostly sunny, with a high of 64°. Check the latest forecast — including radar and satellite images for Seal Beach — at the National Weather Service.

Update: Thangksgiving grocery gatherers got a break on Wednesday afternoon as storm clouds broke and the day warmed. The NWS says a chance of rain remains for the rest of the day. Picture above: A patch of blue sky opens over Seal Beach on Wednesday morning.
