Surf’s up for Saturday contest
The waiting period is over: the Katin Surf Shop Seal Beach Surfing Championship is set for Saturday on the north side of the pier. “The weather is supposed to be really good and and the swell is supposed to be the biggest one of the winter yet,” says lifeguard Tim Senneff. “We’re lucky that it coincided with this weekend.”
The contest entry fee is $45 and surfers can find entry forms at lifeguard headquarters, at the foot of the Seal Beach Pier, or at local surf shops, including Katin, Harbour and Bruce Jones. You’ll can find more information here. “People really should try and enter before the weekend,” Tim says. “It fills up quick.”

Seal Beach Daily will be on the sand. Check back this weekend for contest coverage.
