SBD Book lotto: Spring staycation guide
Just in time for spring break, we’re giving away an autographed copy of Great Escapes: Southern California.
Great Escapes is my latest travel book, a collection of weekend getaways and one-day wonders — all within two hours or so of Orange County.
Researching the book was a blast — and a good excuse to break out my own travel rut and actually leave Seal Beach. I went someplace different nearly every week: Day trips. Date nights. Weekend treks to my favorite spots and to places I’d always meant to visit, such as El Capitan Canyon near Santa Barbara and the wild end of Catalina Island.
