Seal Beach has an eventful week
Republican Women’s Club meets tonight, 7 to 9 p.m at the Mary Wilson Library Senior Center, 707 Electric Ave. Seal Beach Mayor Gordon Shanks announced last night that he will be attending the meeting with other council colleagues.
Seal Beach Historical Society talk Thursday, 7 p.m. Mary Wilson Library Senior Center, 707 Electric Ave. Guest speaker Charles Beal discusses the life of early Seal Beach resident Judge John Ord and his fascinating history dating back to the Civil War.
Eco Barons talk and fundraiser Thursday, 7 p.m. Seal Beach author Edward Humes discusses his new book, Eco Barons: The Dreamers, Schemers and Millionaires Who Are Saving Our Planet, at Barnes and Noble Marina Pacifica, 6326 E. Seal Beach Playgroup Tile Painting Saturday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Eisenhower Park next to the Seal Beach Pier. Paint a tile and your art work will decorate the playground wall at Marina Park. The 8×8 tiles cost $50 for families, $75 for businesses; proceeds benefit the Seal Beach Playgroup, a co-op preschool. Info.
The MINX Fashion Show and Breast Cancer Fundraiser Saturday, March 28 at 2 p.m. at the The Gaslamp, 6251 E. Pacific Coast Hwy., Long Beach. The show — which features fashions from size 4 to size 24 — benefits Breast Cancer Angels. Appetizers, refreshments, gift bags, raffles. Ticket/donation $20 in advance/$25 at the door.
