A good hoagie sandwiched between chains

Register food blogger Jeff Overley writes that Santa Fe Importers — tucked among mega-chain eateries in Seal Beach’s Old Ranch Town Center — serves up an authentic and “glorious” grinder.

“My first choice was the 7-inch hot Italian Beef … This was a marvel of simplicity: Heavenly white bread roll, super-moist beef, sauteed onions, sweet peppers and ultra-tender, slightly sweet sun-dried tomatoes.”

Read more and see some delectable-looking sandwich pictures at ocregister.com’s Food Frenzy blog. Santa Fe Importers is at 12430 Seal Beach Blvd. 562-596-5800
