Arbor Dog Park. Located in Seal Beach off Lampson Avenue, between Heather and Rose, this is a two and a half acre grass park with several large shade trees. Open dawn to dusk weather permitting. Closed Thursday 8 am to noon for maintenance. [website]

Huntington Dog Beach. Located on Pacific Coast Highway Between Seapoint Street on the north and 21st Street on the south. Open 5 am-10pm daily. Metered parking available, so bring change. [website]

Long Beach Dog Beach. Located on the water between Roycroft and Argonne avenues in Belmont Shore, a few blocks east of the Belmont Pier and Olympic pool. Enter the parking lot at Bennett Avenue. Open 6 am to 8 pm daily. [website]

Pet adoption

The Seal Beach Animal Care Center is a non-profit animal shelter. Browse the center’s website and you’ll find photos and bios of the dogs and cats that need homes, along with a pet supply wishlist. Located just off Seal Beach Boulevard, next to the city’s police station, the Seal Beach Animal Care Center is open to the public seven days a week.
